Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a Service Operations Manager – Power Systems to lead the operational execution of a growing field service organization. This role is responsible for managing technician scheduling, workforce utilization, job coordination, and service delivery processes to ensure efficient and scalable field operations.
The Service Operations Manager will serve as the central point of coordination for field service activities, working closely with sales, project management, and field teams to ensure jobs are properly staffed, scheduled, and executed. The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-driven, and experienced in managing mobile or field-based teams.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage weekly and long-range technician schedules based on workload, skill sets, and certifications.
• Assign and deploy technicians to maximize utilization, efficiency, and billable hours.
• Adjust schedules in real time to address field changes, delays, and shifting priorities.
• Ensure all service jobs are properly scoped, staffed, and scheduled to meet customer requirements.
• Coordinate job execution with sales, project managers, and customers to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
• Track job progress and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts, resource gaps, and delays.
• Manage technician travel logistics, including flights, lodging, and coordination of job readiness.
• Optimize travel schedules to reduce costs and minimize downtime.
• Monitor and report on key performance metrics, including technician utilization, billable hours, and job completion timelines.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance performance.
• Establish and maintain scheduling workflows, field reporting processes, and job tracking systems.
• Ensure consistent execution of service processes across all field activities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling updates, job coordination, and service timelines.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers to set expectations and provide updates.
• Escalate technical issues to Field Service leadership as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
• 5–10+ years of experience in field service operations, dispatch, service coordination, or a related role.
• Experience managing or supporting mobile or field-based teams.
• Strong scheduling, planning, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively with technical teams without requiring deep technical expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in electrical, construction, industrial, or service-based industries.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, field service management tools, or scheduling platforms.
• Experience tracking and managing operational KPIs.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Occasional travel may be required to support field operations.
