POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, rebuilding, and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services. This role encompasses a wide range of duties, including the upkeep of HVAC systems, lighting, plant air, and general building maintenance activities. The technician is expected to maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment, manage consumable parts inventories, diagnose machine malfunctions, and oversee third-party contractor support when necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery and support equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Inspect equipment for wear, misalignment, or potential failures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and PM schedules.
- Production Support
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime.
- Assist operators with machine setup, adjustments, and minor repairs.
- Communicate recurring issues and recommend long term solutions.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and equipment guarding.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment hazards.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Parts & Inventory Management
- Maintained organized toolbox, work area, and spare parts.
- Track and maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables.
- Coordinate with vendors for parts, service calls, or specialized repairs.
- Document parts usage and assist with maintenance budgeting.
- Facility Maintenance
- Support general building upkeep, including lighting, HVAC filters, plumbing, and infrastructure repairs.
- Assist with equipment installation, relocation, and alignment.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial or manufacturing equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work safely around moving machinery.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
