About This Position
The Sign Production Designer Intern is responsible for assisting CAD personnel in creating new and updating designs for our customers signage needs. You'll work both individually, and with the CAD team, to bring these designs to fruition. As a hands-on position, you will be using your experience with wide format printing to help setup and run printers, laminators and plotters in addition to the design work.
The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Assist CAD personnel in developing and modifying artwork using vector based software, for example, Flexi Sign, Gerber, Corel Draw, Illustrator, etc.
- Operate and setup as needed wide format printers, plotters, flatbed cutting and routing machines, and laminators. Including EFI, Graphtec, Mimaki, Aristo, HP.
- You must be able to work multiple projects/multi-task within tight deadlines.
- Produce materials to customer specifications for final production.
- Retouch and color correct images using manufacture and customer specifications to produce the desired results.
- Adhere to style and industry guidelines.
- Communicate with team members and work hand in hand with customer service to ensure correct and accurate art production.
- Ability to convert artwork from working form to finalized, appropriate file formats for specific print purposes.
- Ability to upload appropriate files and to print & assemble proof materials for customer approvals.
- Art layout for large format printing and calibrating colors.
- Troubleshooting/reasoning ability to keep production from stopping.
- Collaborate with company staff to provide exemplary service to customers.
- Other duties as assigned.

This is NOT a graphic artist position. This job is tech centric, with some elements of graphic artistry within industry regulations.

- Degree in Computer Graphics Arts is a plus.
- Able to read a ruler/tape measure properly.
- Able to sit-stand-bend over on a regular basis.
