Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth.
JOB SUMMARY:
As the Licensed Electrician, you will be asked to maintain the electrical systems of the facility in safe working condition. Performs maintenance and urgent corrective and routine repairs to the electrical systems/equipment. Installs and repairs electrical wiring, fixtures, control equipment, etc. Participates in the department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform duties necessary to keep the physical structure and plant equipment of the hospital in good working order.
- Install, maintain, and repair all hospital electrical equipment, daily.
- Calibrate and test electrical equipment, daily.
- Maintain electrical and safety code compliance, daily.
- Perform routine and scheduled preventive maintenance inspections, daily.
- Perform electrical safety tests as may be required, daily.
- Exhibits timely, satisfactory completion of an assignment as evidenced by no overtime unless required and approved by the Engineering Supervisor.
- Assume responsibility for specifying materials required for both repair and new installation in electrical work.
- Run wire through the conduit as directed by the Engineering Supervisor, daily.
- Maintain electrical and safety code compliance, daily.
- Cuts and shapes materials with hand tools and fastens them in place, with regard to accuracy in controlling waste.
- Assist in enhancing productivity and efficient operation of the Engineering Department.
- Perform machinery surveillance rounds as directed by the Engineering Supervisor with no more than one documented error monthly.
- Cycle equipment on and off as directed by the Engineering Supervisor for the purpose of energy conservation, as evidenced by the machinery surveillance report sheets.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of the four-year Electrician Apprentice Program is required.
- Journeyman and/or Masters required.
- Two to four years of job-related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
