About the Role:
The Dental Receptionist plays a crucial role as the first point of contact for patients visiting the dental office, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. This position is responsible for managing patient appointments, handling inquiries, and maintaining accurate patient records to facilitate smooth office operations. The role requires effective communication with patients, dental staff, and insurance providers to coordinate care and resolve scheduling or billing issues. The Dental Receptionist also supports administrative tasks such as processing payments, managing correspondence, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the reception area. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to patient satisfaction and the overall efficiency of the dental practice.
Work Days and Hours:
Full-time position for the office in Ellijay, GA. Enjoy a life-work balanced schedule of four days per week, Monday - Thursday 7:15am-5:30p, giving you a long weekend every weekend!
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience in a receptionist role, preferably in a dental or healthcare setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer service training or experience.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Successfully passing pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Preferred Qualification:
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology.
- Familiar with dental practice management software like Dentrix.
- Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish and English.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients as they arrive, providing a friendly and professional first impression.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using dental practice management software.
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails and respond to patient inquiries regarding services, insurance, and office policies.
- Maintain and update patient records accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process patient payments, Collect and verify insurance information.
- Coordinate communication between patients and dental staff to ensure timely and effective care.
- Manage office supplies and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
- Assist with administrative duties such as filing, faxing, and preparing patient charts for appointments.
- Other duties as assigned.
