Job Description

Description:

As a Communications Associate, you will lead content development, thought leadership, and digital communications efforts that advance Fervo's brand and stakeholder engagement. You will take primary ownership of content creation, social media strategy, and campaign execution — operating with significant autonomy while coordinating closely with internal teams and external partners.

You will also support broader communications strategy by tracking performance metrics, conducting industry research, and ensuring consistency across internal and external messaging. Working closely with the Communications Lead and cross-functional partners, you will help ensure that Fervo's voice is clear, compelling, and aligned with company priorities across all channels.

Requirements:

Responsibilities

Content Development & Editorial Execution

  • Lead the development, editing, and production of high-quality internal and external communications, including press releases, blog posts, executive messaging, social media content, and website updates.
  • Own end-to-end content workflows from brief to publication, ensuring accuracy, brand consistency, and editorial quality across deliverables.
  • Support the development of executive communications and thought leadership content for senior leaders across speaking opportunities, LinkedIn, and industry publications.
  • Maintain and continuously improve a library of approved messaging, talking points, and communication templates for recurring use cases.

Digital & Social Media Strategy

  • Lead coordination of communications campaigns and events, managing timelines, cross-functional input, and final deliverables.
  • Develop employee and stakeholder communication materials — including presentations, FAQs, internal announcements, and project updates — that reflect Fervo's culture and values.
  • Partner with People Operations, Business Development, and other teams to support communications needs across major company initiatives.

Research, Reporting & Strategy Support

  • Track and analyze engagement metrics across digital platforms, preparing regular performance reports and strategic recommendations for leadership.
  • Conduct ongoing research on industry trends, competitor communications, and emerging best practices to inform content and channel strategy.
  • Support the Communications Lead in developing and refining Fervo's broader communications strategy and annual planning.

Team and Culture

  • Demonstrate ownership over quality, consistency, and follow-through on all communications deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Engineering, People Operations, Business Development, and other cross-functional partners to ensure aligned messaging.
  • Work with urgency, adaptability, and sound judgment, embracing a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Contribute to a culture of creative excellence and continuous improvement within the Communications function.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • 3–6 years of professional experience in communications, content strategy, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written content independently across multiple formats and audiences · Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, LinkedIn Insights)
  • Proficiency with design or content tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite, or equivalent)
  • Experience presenting to or communicating with senior stakeholders, with the ability to distill complex information for leadership audiences

Preferred

  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, climate tech, or other technically complex industries
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) and content management systems
  • Experience managing social media platforms and digital communications programs
  • Experience supporting executive communications or thought leadership programs
  • Working knowledge of SEO, content strategy, and data-driven editorial planning
  • Experience managing or coordinating with external agency or creative partners
