Summary

Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing patient care in accordance with established standards and skill competency. Collaborates with physician in the continuing care of both inpatients (Phase 1 program) and outpatients (Phases 2 and 3 programs). Responsible for the education of patient/family, staff, Hospital personnel, and community regarding cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation benefits in the reduction of coronary artery disease (CAD) risk factors and promotion of self-maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Must possess a current license or a temporary practice permit to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
2. Appropriate clinical experience with a thorough knowledge of the scientific principles of nursing and professional nursing standards, developed skill in delivering nursing care, and the ability to adapt to individual needs.
3. The ability to complete successfully a competency-based orientation and annual competency testing of skills and knowledge necessary to provide care to specific patient populations.
4. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
5. Minimum of one year clinical experience in a critical care, cardiac rehab, or telemetry setting.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

2. Fundamental knowledge/experience in cardiac/pulmonary rehab and secondary prevention of CAD disease process.

3. Fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system and Microsoft software programs.
