Job Description
Summary
Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing patient care in accordance with established standards and skill competency. Collaborates with physician in the continuing care of both inpatients (Phase 1 program) and outpatients (Phases 2 and 3 programs). Responsible for the education of patient/family, staff, Hospital personnel, and community regarding cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation benefits in the reduction of coronary artery disease (CAD) risk factors and promotion of self-maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess a current license or a temporary practice permit to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Appropriate clinical experience with a thorough knowledge of the scientific principles of nursing and professional nursing standards, developed skill in delivering nursing care, and the ability to adapt to individual needs.
- The ability to complete successfully a competency-based orientation and annual competency testing of skills and knowledge necessary to provide care to specific patient populations.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Minimum of one year clinical experience in a critical care, cardiac rehab, or telemetry setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
2. Fundamental knowledge/experience in cardiac/pulmonary rehab and secondary prevention of CAD disease process.
3. Fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system and Microsoft software programs.
