The TeamThe Brand Team functions as an internal marketing, creative, and communications agency that serves the entire Mount Vernon Organization, including the School, MVSO, the Virtual Global Campus, and Ventures, the educational consultancy. The team includes the Chief Brand Officer, Director of Web Development & Digital Experience, Senior Graphic Designer, and Print and Project Coordinator each contributing to strategic storytelling, visual design, and digital engagement. Highly collaborative and primarily in person with some hybrid flexibility, this team leverages digital tools and frequent touchpoints to produce an incredible amount of high-quality assets that elevate and extend the Mount Vernon identity.
The RoleMount Vernon School has an exciting opportunity to join our community in one of the most spirited spaces on campus: the Made in MV Store. Opened in 2019 alongside our Upper School building, the store is entering a new chapter with a refreshed physical space and the launch of online sales in summer 2026. We are seeking a Part-Time Store Manager to serve as the primary on-site leader during school hours and a trusted operational partner to the Brand Team. This role blends strong retail execution with strategic thinking, balancing day-to-day operations with proactive planning for seasonal launches, spirit initiatives, and community experiences. This is a part-time, hourly position scheduled for 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Responsibilities- Lead daily store operations, ensuring a polished, customer-ready environment both in-store and online
- Manage merchandising and visual displays, refreshing product presentation to align with seasons, school events, and brand initiatives
- Deliver excellent customer service while accurately handling POS transactions and fulfilling online orders (pick, pack, ship/pickup)
- Monitor sales performance and inventory trends, identifying top products, gaps, and opportunities to inform product strategy
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular audits, stock management, and efficient processing of shipments and backstock
- Support product development by researching vendors, recommending new merchandise, and contributing to assortment planning and seasonal launches
- Assist with event-based retail operations, including pop-ups, promotions, and peak traffic periods, while improving systems and processes for scalability
- Strong organizational, operational, and customer service skills
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to manage inventory and fulfill orders as needed
- Experience with online order fulfillment and inventory across physical + digital stores preferred
- Familiarity with tools like Monday.com preferred
- Experience with POS systems - ideally Shopify
- 3+ years of retail experience
- Availability M-F, 8:00am - 1:00pm
