Location Assignments take place within approximately a 25-mile radius of our Mission Valley office, supporting hospitality clients across: North San Diego: Carlsbad, Encinitas, Vista, Escondido Central San Diego: La Jolla, University City, Clairemont, Mira Mesa, Sorrento Valley, Carmel Valley, Del Mar, Rancho Peñasquitos South San Diego: Mission Valley, Downtown San Diego, Hillcrest, North Park, South Park, Mission Hills, Point Loma, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, University Heights Assignments include hotels, convention venues, private events, corporate functions, weddings, catering partners, universities, and hospitality venues throughout the region. We partner with caterers, corporate dining programs, hotels, private clubs, universities, and event venues to provide reliable hospitality professionals. Due to continued growth in the San Diego market, we are expanding our front-of-house team and seeking experienced banquet servers comfortable working a variety of professional event environments. Position Summary The Banquet Server supports event service including plated meals, buffets, receptions, and large-scale hospitality functions. This is a flexible, on-call hospitality staffing position best suited for individuals with prior banquet serving experience, strong tray carrying skills, and a professional service mindset. Assignments vary based on client demand and event schedules. Typical Shifts Most assignments occur evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Some daytime corporate events and university functions may also be available. Flexibility is essential. Key Responsibilities • Perform professional banquet service including plated meals, buffet service, receptions, and cocktail events • Carry oval trays safely and confidently during service • Set up and break down banquet tables, service stations, and event areas • Follow steps of service and client-specific event instructions • Maintain clean, organized work areas throughout the event • Communicate effectively with captains, chefs, event managers, and teammates • Provide polished guest service while representing The Party Staff professionally • Follow uniform, safety, and company policy requirements Qualifications • Prior banquet serving experience strongly preferred • Ability to safely carry oval trays during service required • Professional hospitality demeanor and strong guest service skills • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays • Reliable transportation to assignments throughout San Diego County • Professional service attire required (typically black bistro uniform, non-slip shoes) • Ability to work legally in the United States Physical Requirements • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (6 to 10 hours) • Ability to lift and carry trays and equipment up to approximately 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation • Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly in busy event environments Work Environment • Hotels, banquet halls, catering venues, private events, corporate functions, and universities • Fast-paced event service environments with structured timelines • Flexible on-call scheduling through mobile staff portal Compensation Hourly pay range: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on experience, client assignment, and event type.
