Position Description:

The Alamo is looking for a Videographer & Content Specialist

POSITION SCOPE

The Videographer will be an integral part of turning the Communications Department into an Alamo Newsroom that can provide live video feeds from events, live interview opportunities, and timely, dynamic social media content.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Work alongside Associate Director of Public Relations and the Editor to identify and execute storytelling opportunities for social media and educational purposes

Live stream all ATI press events like groundbreakings, grand openings, ribbon cuttings, unveilings, announcements

Maintain and recommend multimedia equipment of cameras, lighting, audio, and editing tools to keep the team operating at a high level

Maintain and recommend backpack live unit that news outlets could use to easily access content from press events or pre-booked live segments

Manage production logistics for recorded and live segments (camera, microphones, lighting, earpiece)

Produce and edit post-event recap videos to be posted on social media no later than 4 hours after event

Produce, edit, and post video segments that can be used in distance learning experiences

Participate in team meetings to prioritize production content

Contribute video and sound bites to post-event digital access kit for press

Produce high-quality videos commissioned by Alamo departments including collections, education, archaeology, living history, development, and human resources

Develop and maintain video archive and policies for easy sharing with stakeholders and press

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, or another area of relevance to the Alamo mission. History background a plus!

Experience producing high-quality storytelling videos for different audiences.

Strong digital editing skills.

Experience with backpack live units.

A strong understanding of what makes a powerful narrative and how it is best repeated across audiences and platforms.

Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-profile environment, managing multiple projects, competing priorities and tight deadlines.

Flexibility to adjust schedule when necessary to accommodate history-based events and travel.

Strong team-orientation and professional attitude.

Drone certification a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS & EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Bilingual a plus.

Must be able to provide documents establishing identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
