About This Position

Teach students who shape the future.

At Contour TestPrep, we specialise exclusively in Selective Entry programs, supporting high-potential students aiming for Victoria’s most competitive schools.

We’re looking for driven and committed Victorian Selective Entry Tutors to guide Year 7–8 students as they prepare for entry into some of Victoria’s most prestigious selective high schools.

Selective Entry preparation can feel overwhelming and confusing for students. This is where you come in. You will mentor ambitious young learners, help them build confidence, master challenging exam content, and develop the mindset needed to excel.

As a Selective Entry Tutor, you will lead engaging small-group classes and provide personalised one-on-one coaching, using high-quality teaching materials with minimal administrative tasks so you can focus on what matters most: teaching, inspiring, and empowering students to reach their full potential.

This is your opportunity to make a real impact, grow as a communicator and leader, and share your love for learning with the next generation of high achievers.

Who Are We

Contour is Victoria’s largest and fastest-growing tutoring company, supporting over 6,000 students since 2020. Our TestPrep division focuses on high-impact, results-driven preparation for key academic milestones.

Launching in November 2025, our Victorian Selective Entry Program will help students gain entry into top selective schools including Melbourne High, Mac.Robertson Girls’, Nossal and Suzanne Cory.

With small-group tutoring, personalised support and premium resources across our five campuses, we deliver exceptional outcomes. Recognised by the Australian Financial Review as one of Australia’s Fastest Growing Startups for three consecutive years, our mission is simple: reshape education, one student at a time.

What You'll Do

  • Weekly Group Classes: Conduct engaging 2-hour Selective Entry classes for small groups of 6-12 students across Years 6-8. Subjects covered are Mathematics (Reasoning / Quantitative subtests), English (Reading / Verbal subtests), Writing (Creative / Persuasive subtests)
    • Each session follows a structured three-part approach: content delivery to build understanding, targeted practice to reinforce concepts, and assessments to evaluate progress.
    • NOTE: You will specialise into one subject, so you will not be required to do all three.
  • 1-on-1 Consultations: Provide personalised consultations with students and parents to evaluate student progress, identify areas for improvement, and make a tailored improvement plan to accelerate their development.
  • Essay Marking: Writing Tutors will mark student submissions and provide prompt, targeted feedback. This flexible marking work is completed outside of class hours and is fully compensated.
  • Training & Team Collaboration: Complete initial training, participate in occasional team meetings, and assist with basic resource review as needed to maintain program quality.

Why You Should Apply

  • Minimal Admin: Focus on teaching while we handle scheduling, payments, and enrolments
  • Opportunity to Tutor Groups: Move beyond 1-on-1 to inspire multiple students without the hassle of finding clients
  • Fun & Growth: Creative startup environment with skill development, career progression, and direct access to founders

  • Empathetic and student-focused
  • Adaptable and quick-thinking
  • Organised and reliable
