Clinical Therapist I - North at Hendrick Medical Center – Abilene, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

• Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders. Assume primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities, including the supervision of respiratory therapy students and new graduates. Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures; maintain patient records; and select, assemble, check, and operate equipment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Education
  • Graduate of Registry Level Respiratory Care Program
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential NBRC
• Minimum Work Experience
  • No previous experience
• Required Licenses/Certifications
  • State of Texas licensure in Respiratory Care
  • Annual renewal of National Board for Respiratory Care active status for therapists subject to the Continuing Competency Program (CCP)
  • Graduate Therapists must obtain CRT credentials and then test for RRT credential and NBRC Credential active status within 1 year of graduation. If RRT Credential is not obtained, will be placed into Respiratory Care Practitioner job position until RRT credential is obtained.
  • BLS - should not initiate patient contact until completed
  • ACLS - completed within six (6) months
  • ENPC or PALS - completed within one (1) year
  • NRP - completed within one (1) year
• Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Input data into computer programs.
  • Maintain work area according to OSHA and NIOSH standards.
