About This Position
Metro Dermatology is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, bi/multi-lingual, career-minded, and experienced medical assistants to join our dynamic and fast-paced team at our Flushing location, 144-72 Northern Boulevard, Suite 203, Flushing NY. Metro Dermatology of NY/NJ is a high-volume and rapidly growing medical and aesthetic dermatology practice, serving diverse communities in the Bronx, Flushing, Elmhurst, Glen Oaks, and Fort Lee, NJ. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the Practice's competitive health, dental, and vision plans within thirty days of start date
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting providers with procedures and surgeries, phlebotomy, prescriptions, and maintaining efficient patient flow.
- Assisting patients with laser and phototherapy treatments
- Communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies to assist with any questions, prescription inquiries, and prior authorizations.
- Triaging and collecting patient histories, charting and completing documentation, prepping and maintaining sterile examination and operating rooms, and restocking and ordering supplies as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- - MUST have an associate's degree or higher
- - STRONGLY RECOMMEND that staff be vaccinated against COVID-19, including boosters and new vaccines
- - MUST BE BILINGUAL in English and Spanish, fluency in other languages is a plus
- - MUST be able to work at least one Saturday shift per month (8:45 am to 1 pm), non-negotiable
- - MUST be able to start early (7:45 am) or stay late (5 pm)
- - LPN or RN license helpful
- - Prior experience in a dermatology office preferred
Time Commitment
Full-time applicants who can commit to at least two years of work preferred. Part-time positions may be available for exceptional candidates. Office hours are 8-5 on weekdays, 9-1 on Saturdays
