OUR MISSION

The ROCK Community Center for Youth & Children (RCCYC) champions the development of healthy, whole, and resilient youth and children in Arlington Woods and beyond. The Center provides safe, accessible, high-quality, holistic programs and support services for K–12 youth and their families, spanning education, recreation, leadership, and enrichment.

YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSION

The Center Director serves as the on-site executive leader of RCCYC, accountable for the overall success of the Center. This position provides vision, leadership, and oversight for youth programming, operations, staff, volunteers, budget management, and grant compliance.

The Center Director is the primary steward of RCCYC’s budget and grant deliverables. Working closely with the Executive Director of Administration, finance staff, and development partners, this role ensures that all funding requirements are met and supports efforts to secure new grants and resources.

This role is 100% onsite and requires a consistent daily presence during program hours and events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Supervise the Director of Operations, Director of Programs, and Volunteer Coordinator; set expectations, review performance, and support professional growth.

· Ensure RCCYC maintains a culture of excellence, safety, and inclusion.

· Serve as the primary on-site representative of RCCYC to parents, schools, community partners, and ESC/JEWEL leadership.

Budget & Grants

· Manage the site-level RCCYC budget in partnership with the Executive Director of Administration and finance team.

· Work with the Director of Operations and Director of Programs to set, monitor, and adjust their departmental budgets.

· Ensure all grant funds are spent in compliance with funder guidelines, timelines, and deliverables.

· Prepare and submit required reports, data, and narratives for grants and funders.

· Support grant-seeking efforts by providing program data, success stories, and community needs insights to development staff.

· Monitor financial health and provide accurate and timely reports to ESC/JEWEL leadership.

Program Excellence

· Hold the Director of Programs accountable for designing and implementing a balanced program schedule (education, enrichment, recreation, leadership).

· Ensure program quality, inclusion, and alignment with youth development best practices.

· Oversee program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.

Operations & Administration

· Hold the Director of Operations accountable for registration, attendance tracking, scheduling, food service coordination, transportation liaison activities, and incident documentation.

· Partner with ESC’s Facilities and Security teams to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

· Oversee compliance with youth protection and organizational policies.

Staff & Volunteer Leadership

· Build a high-performing team through coaching, accountability, and recognition.

· Oversee recruitment, training, and support for staff and volunteers.

· Foster a professional development culture for ongoing growth and retention.

Family & Community Engagement

· Serve as the face of RCCYC for parents and guardians, ensuring regular and transparent communication.

· Strengthen partnerships with IPS Zone 3 schools, community organizations, and ESC ministries.

· Support family engagement events and workshops.
