Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, test, deploy and operate secure full-stack solutions across user interfaces, APIs, services, integrations and cloud platforms.
  • Translate business and product requirements into scalable, maintainable technical designs and software components.
  • Write clean, secure, well-structured and appropriately documented code.
  • Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, API and end-to-end tests.
  • Use approved AI-assisted tools responsibly for analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation and troubleshooting.
  • Validate all AI-generated outputs and remain accountable for their quality, security, correctness and licensing compliance.
  • Protect confidential, personal, proprietary and security-sensitive information throughout development, including when using AI tools.
  • Troubleshoot defects, incidents and performance issues while improving system reliability, scalability, observability and maintainability.
  • Create and maintain technical specifications, architecture diagrams, workflows, interface definitions and operational documentation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, contribute to planning and technical decisions, review colleagues’ work, and support other engineers through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
Education and professional experience
  • University or college degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional experience in full-stack software development or a related software engineering role.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web user interfaces, APIs, backend services, data solutions, and system integrations.
  • Experience building scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions and translating business and product requirements into technical designs.
  • Practical experience with version control, code review, debugging, performance optimisation, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, containerisation, observability solutions, and operational responsibilities is preferred.
  • Experience using approved AI-assisted development tools responsibly is preferred.
Language skills
  • Good command of written and spoken English, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate technical decisions effectively.
Technical skills
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, full-stack application architectures, secure development practices, and clean-code principles.
  • Practical knowledge of at least one modern front-end framework and one backend programming language and framework.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, RESTful or other APIs, authentication and authorisation solutions, and system-integration patterns.
  • Working knowledge of relational or non-relational databases, data modelling, queries, and data-management principles.
  • Proficiency with automated testing frameworks, version-control systems, code-review practices, build pipelines, and CI/CD tools.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based development and operational environments, containers, logging, monitoring, and observability.
  • Ability to use approved AI-assisted tools for analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of the limitations and risks of AI-generated outputs, including validation, confidentiality, security, licensing compliance, and professional accountability requirements.

  • Willingness and ability to continuously develop full-stack, cloud, security, and AI-assisted software engineering knowledge, and to share knowledge, mentor others.
