Job Description

AG Hotels Group is looking for a hands-on, proactive, and service-driven Pub & Restaurant Duty Manager to support the daily running of our busy pub and restaurant at our hotel in London – The Crown hotel, based in Cricklewood. If you are passionate about hospitality, confident in leading a team, and committed to delivering excellent guest experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

Role purpose

To manage the hotel’s pub, restaurant and event operations, ensuring excellent guest service, effective team management and strong commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

· Manage the daily operation of the pub and restaurant, maintaining high standards of service, presentation and cleanliness.

· Oversee the delivery of meetings, conferences, private functions, weddings and other events.

· Coordinate event requirements, including room setup, catering, equipment, timings and staffing.

· Recruit, train, supervise and motivate the food and beverage team.

· Prepare rotas and manage staffing levels in line with business needs and budgets.

· Work closely with the kitchen, reception, housekeeping and sales teams.

· Handle guest feedback and complaints promptly and professionally.

· Monitor sales, payroll, stock, wastage and other operating costs.

· Maximise revenue through upselling, promotions and effective use of the hotel’s facilities.

· Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen, licensing, health and safety, and company procedures.

· Manage stock ordering, deliveries and regular stock counts.

· Act as Duty Manager for the wider hotel when required.

What We’re Looking For

· Previous management experience in a pub, restaurant, hotel or similar hospitality environment.

· Experience delivering meetings, functions or events.

· Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

· Commercial awareness and experience managing costs, rotas and stock.

· Excellent guest-service and problem-solving skills.

· Good knowledge of food safety, allergens, licensing and health and safety.

· Flexible and able to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

· A Personal Licence and relevant hospitality qualifications would be advantageous.
