This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Team Lead - Sales Development based in India.
This is a remote leadership opportunity for an experienced sales development professional ready to lead and develop a high-performing B2B technology sales team. You’ll own day-to-day sales development execution while helping shape top-of-funnel strategy and pipeline generation. The role combines hands-on coaching, performance management, process optimization, and strategic prospecting. You’ll work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and other go-to-market teams to improve lead generation and handoffs. Data and performance metrics will guide your decisions as you identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. Lead the day-to-day operations of the Sales Development team, driving consistent execution, productivity, and alignment with business objectives.
Recruit, onboard, train, mentor, and coach Business Development Representatives (BDRs), helping them strengthen prospecting, communication, qualification, and sales skills.
Establish team KPIs and monitor performance against lead-generation, prospecting, pipeline-contribution, and productivity targets.
Analyze performance data to identify trends, diagnose bottlenecks, and implement initiatives that improve team effectiveness.
Continuously evaluate and optimize sales development processes, prospecting workflows, and best practices.
Provide regular coaching on sales tools, processes, messaging, prospecting strategies, and relevant product or industry developments.
Ensure accurate and consistent use of Salesforce and maintain reliable records of sales activities, prospect interactions, and lead information.
Build and maintain reporting dashboards that provide visibility into team performance and pipeline contribution.
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and other cross-functional stakeholders to align sales development activities with broader go-to-market objectives.
Facilitate effective lead handoffs between BDRs and Account Executives to support a seamless prospect experience.
Create individualized development plans for BDRs and support their progression toward broader sales and leadership opportunities.
Develop strategic prospecting approaches for high-potential accounts and territories while identifying emerging market opportunities.
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and results-oriented team culture focused on continuous learning and improvement.
7–10 years of experience in Sales Development, preferably within SaaS or B2B technology sales.
At least 2 years of experience directly managing and developing SDRs or BDRs.
Demonstrated understanding of the sales development lifecycle and experience leading high-performing sales development teams.
Experience selling or supporting complex technology products and navigating longer sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of prospecting, lead generation, data cleansing, qualification, and pipeline development practices.
Hands-on proficiency with sales and prospecting platforms such as Salesforce, Outreach or SalesLoft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and data-enrichment tools.
Strong analytical and process-oriented mindset, with the ability to use performance data to identify inefficiencies and improve sales development strategies.
Excellent coaching, mentoring, communication, and team-building skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, marketing, product, and senior leadership stakeholders.
Highly motivated, organized, proactive, and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve and experimentation is encouraged.
