Job Description
Position Summary
The Partner is a senior leader responsible for Connors Group most strategic clients, combining relationship management, growth expansion, business development, and delivery leadership. This role requires deep executive relationships, sophisticated client strategy, and the ability to identify and capture high-value opportunities while ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and positioning the firm as an indispensable strategic partner. The Partner engages credibly with senior executives, manages complex large-scale engagements across organizational leadership levels, and carries annual revenue of approximately $5–10+ million across their client portfolio, inclusive of new business, renewals, and expansion opportunities.
Duties and responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Generation
Key Responsibilities
- Identifies opportunities to deepen relationships to close larger deals; pursues strategic clients, qualifies leads, and collaborates on pursuit relationships
- Leads revenue generation and the entire pursuit process to win new business
- Owns and delivers an annual revenue target of $5–10+ million across assigned clients, combining new business, renewals, and client expansion
- Leverages an extensive external professional network to build senior executive relationships with qualified prospects and originate new business
- Identifies sources of opportunities within existing or new clients; translates delivery feedback into prioritized opportunities and proposals for client expansion
- Build key client plans inclusive of renewal and upsell discussions; negotiate terms as required
- Approve client plans, major SOWs, and pricing proposals
- In partnership with the practice, scopes opportunities and shapes deliverables into comprehensive Statements of Work (SOWs) and project plans
- Leads a cross-practice team in support of Key Client Planning to sell Connors Group multidisciplinary offerings
- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of client and works with practice leads to manage profitability
- Inspires, develops, and mentors staff across various functions and levels across the organization in sales effectiveness, opportunity pursuit, and revenue generation strategy and techniques
Client Delivery & Client Leadership
Strategic Client Management
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deepen executive relationships with sponsor-level stakeholders and C-suite contacts, including the client's primary project sponsor and executive leadership; protect and expand strategic value across the client portfolio
- Serves as the client's primary firm relationship representative, advisor, and strategic partner
- Set and drive client vision and strategic priorities; connect delivery to strategy and identify growth opportunities
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the client's industry, regulatory environment, competitive landscape, organizational needs, motivations, and future initiatives
- Monitor client health, risk, and long-term growth opportunities; proactively identify market shifts and competitive threats
- Adheres to governance and oversight design in accordance with KAP, client reviews, P&L reviews, etc
Delivery Excellence & Quality Assurance
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure alignment between client strategic objectives, delivery outcomes, and project delivery quality; manage escalations and resolve conflicts promptly
- Provides thought leadership on QA compliance and problem-solving, and executes QA reviews across clients and engagements, driving compliance in areas of expertise
- Initiates follow-up on client satisfaction findings to continuously improve services and relationships
- Demonstrates good judgment and protects firm assets during negotiations; effectively manages complex matters with clients regarding budget, scope, risk, resources, feedback, issues, and relationship dynamics
Executive Relationship & Client Engagement
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct purposeful on-site executive visits to build and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers (1–2x/month)
- Lead executive briefings, steering committee meetings, and strategic planning sessions with regular cadence (monthly/quarterly)
- Coordinate discovery and scoping workshops with client stakeholders to understand business challenges and opportunities
- Inform clients of relevant industry trends, operational issues, and recommend strategic actions
- Advocate internally for client resourcing, priority, and executive attention; share client knowledge and insights proactively
Practice Development & Leadership
Talent Attraction, Development & Retention
Key Responsibilities
- Actively engages in attracting and recruiting qualified consultants with outstanding credentials and high potential
- Engages in career equity discussions with advisees/mentees and project teams
- Develops, mentors, and coaches project teams and senior-level team members on complex client delivery, delivery excellence, client relationships, and business development

- Sought out by companies and clients for their expertise or point of view, and acts in ways that results in being recognized as a developing business leader within their area of expertise, industry, and/or local community

Delivery Leadership: Ability to direct complex engagements, coordinate cross-functional teams and SMEs, ensure delivery excellence, and manage tougher delivery situations and conditions

Emotional Intelligence: Strong self-awareness and ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics and stakeholder relationships; ability to manage time conflict and conduct difficult conversations

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, industrial engineering, or related field
- 12+ years of consulting, strategy, or client-facing business experience
- 8+ years in client management, business development, or relationship leadership roles
- Record of building and maintaining long-term client relationships with C-suite executives
- Demonstrated ability to identify and close complex, high value opportunities
- Proven history of managing large, complex, multi-year client engagements
- Demonstrated success in revenue generation and client growth
- Experience managing teams and cross-functional project delivery
- Deep experience in retail, supply chain, manufacturing, or related business functions
Preferred
- Prior experience in management consulting or strategy advisory
- International experience and ability to work across geographies and cultures
- MBA or equivalent professional credential; or equivalent advanced degree
- Experience in industry-specific operational transformations or restructuring
- Recognized thought leadership and external presence in industry/community
Working conditions
Domestic and international travel.
