Overview
Oversee and manage all operational functions and activities for the Executive Vice Dean. Provide leadership and direction for strategic planning initiatives and serve as a key member of the College of Dentistrys Deans Office, including the offices budget and financial planning, facilities, project management, human resources and faculty affairs, clinical affairs and administration. Represent the Executive Vice Dean at selected internal and external meetings with faculty, staff, students, alumni, senior university administrators, consultants, and government and community leaders. Manage and advise the Executive Vice Dean and office staff on day-to-day operations, identifying priorities, resolving complex issues, and ensuring efficiency and effectiveness and optimizing use of available resources. Monitor linkages with senior administrative officers to ensure to ensure effective communication and responsiveness. Provide oversight for all ongoing projects supporting the teams agenda, ensuring initiatives remain aligned with objectives, milestones, timelines, and established measures of success. Develop, plan and administer special events, strategic pathways retreats, and activities and meetings for other high-level groups to advance strategic goals. Serve as the primary liaison for the team with internal and external constituents, resolve issues, and provide strategic and tactical guidance and direction for departmental activities.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree higher education, public administration, public health or related field
Required Experience:
5+ years of relevant experience in academic or finance administration or an equivalent combination. Must include experience managing office operations, planning and implementing special events and activities, and collecting and analyzing data.
Preferred Experience:
5+ years experience with higher education and/or healthcare administration.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Ability to communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to individuals at all levels. Ability to take initiative and manage a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to generate creative ideas and work independently. Ability to act in a professional and confidential manner with all levels of employees and outside groups and effectively respond to simultaneous requests and projects. Ability to manage budgets. Ability to develop, implement and interpret policies and procedures, operational and staff supervision. Excellent problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service skills. Highly creative with the ability to develop new ideas for events. Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work in a rapidly changing environment requiring flexibility. Willingness to take responsibility and the capacity to function well with minimal oversight. Intelligence, flexibility, and creativity. Good judgment, tact, diplomacy, discretion, and ability to maintain confidence. Appropriate level proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications, (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00 to USD $110,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
