HIRING !Medical Assistant
$17 - $25 an hour
JOB SUMMARY We are looking for Medical Assistants I, II, and III to join our integrated healthcare team. In this role, you'll work alongside healthcare providers to deliver compassionate, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care. What You'll Do As a Medical Assistant, you will: • Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures. • Obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, medical histories, and other relevant information. • Prepare examination and treatment rooms. • Assist healthcare providers during examinations, treatments, and office-based procedures. • Collect, process, and test specimens according to established protocols. • Provide patients with instructions regarding specimen collection, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care. • Administer medications, immunizations, injections, and other delegated clinical tasks within your scope of practice and organizational guidelines. • Monitor patients and communicate changes in their condition to the appropriate provider. • Support referrals, authorizations, laboratory testing, and specialty-care follow-up. • Assist with patient outreach, preventive care initiatives, quality measures, and population health activities. • Accurately document patient information, treatments, procedures, and communications in the electronic health record. • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements. • Follow infection prevention, medication management, laboratory, and patient safety standards. • Help maintain examination rooms, supplies, equipment, and inventory. • Support efficient patient flow and daily clinic operations. • Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, providers, and multidisciplinary team members. Your Career Level We offer opportunities for Medical Assistants at different stages of their careers: Medical Assistant I 0–2 years of applied Medical Assistant experience Ideal for early-career Medical Assistants who are developing their clinical skills and gaining experience in patient care, documentation, and healthcare workflows. Medical Assistant II 2–5 years of applied Medical Assistant experience For experienced Medical Assistants who can work independently in most routine situations and serve as a resource to less experienced team members. Medical Assistant III 5+ years of applied Medical Assistant experience For highly experienced Medical Assistants who demonstrate advanced clinical competency and can mentor other Medical Assistants while supporting onboarding, training, and workflow improvement initiatives. Where You May Work Depending on the assignment, Medical Assistants may support: Primary Care • Family medicine • Pediatrics • Women's health • Preventive care • Chronic disease management • Immunizations and screenings Psychiatry Services • Patient intake • Medication monitoring • Vital signs • Documentation • Medication administration and injections • Laboratory coordination • Patient education Addiction Medicine • Specimen collection • Medication administration • Laboratory testing • Patient monitoring • Coordination with behavioral health, nursing, and recovery support teams Some positions may also be assigned as Float Medical Assistants, providing coverage across multiple Valle del Sol locations and clinical programs based on operational needs. What You Need Required • High school diploma or GED. • Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant training program. • Experience based on the level you're applying for: • MA I: 0–2 years • MA II: 2–5 years • MA III: 5+ years • Must meet applicable Medical Assistant credentialing requirements. • Must meet applicable Arizona licensure, certification, and credentialing requirements. • BLS certification, or ability to obtain it within 5 days of starting. • Arizona Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card, or ability to obtain it within 5 days of starting. • Must be at least 18 years old. • Must be authorized to work in the United States. • Must successfully complete required pre-employment and continued employment screenings. Preferred • Certified Medical Assistant ( CMA) • Registered Medical Assistant ( RMA) • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant ( CCMA) • National Certified Medical Assistant ( NCMA) or equivalent nationally recognized certification • Associate degree in a healthcare-related field • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) • Integrated healthcare experience • Experience using electronic health record systems Certification Advantage: Employees who maintain an approved Medical Assistant certification may be eligible for a certification differential in accordance with organizational compensation practices.
