Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, data-driven Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to spearhead our inventory sourcing operations at FitzBuysCars, (FBC). In this role, you will not sell cars; instead, you will focus entirely on buying them. Working under the strategic guidance of our FBC Director and collaborating closely with the FBC Acquisition Manager, you will manage the end-to-end purchasing pipeline. This position involves both dealership and offsite appraisals and purchases, offering a reasonable work schedule while providing top performers with the opportunity to easily make over six figures by leveraging our advanced valuation tools to acquire pre-owned inventory directly from consumers.
About Our Culture
For over 60 years, Fitzgerald Auto Mall has been a proud market leader in the automotive industry. We didn't get here by accident—our success is built on a foundation of integrity, forward-thinking innovation, and a supportive team environment. We believe in empowering our employees with the best tools in the business, celebrating individual wins, and maintaining a transparent, customer-first reputation in our community. When you join our team, you aren't just getting a job; you are building a career with an industry pioneer.
Core Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Pipeline Sourcing: Actively prospect private-party sellers on digital marketplaces (e.g., Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist) and aggressively follow up on inbound "sell your car" leads generated by our website.
  • Vehicle Valuation & Market Analysis: Utilize vAuto, AccuTrade, MMR (Manheim Market Report), and KBB to analyze live market data, evaluate vehicle history reports (Carfax/AutoCheck), and accurately calculate competitive, profitable buy offers.
  • On-Site & Offsite Appraisals: Schedule and conduct thorough physical vehicle inspections both at the dealership and offsite at customer locations (homes, workplaces, etc.), documenting cosmetic wear, mechanical issues, and tire/brake depth to estimate reconditioning costs.
  • Deal Negotiation & Closing: Present buyout offers confidently to consumers, overcome pricing objections using real-time market data, and secure the acquisition during on-site or offsite purchasing appointments.
  • Administrative Compliance: Verify vehicle titles, coordinate with finance teams to process lien payoffs, and complete all state-required purchase documentation accurately.
  • Brand Advocacy & Feedback: Maintain a 5-star consumer experience throughout the appraisal process. Proactively invite sellers to share their experience by collecting positive reviews and testimonials about the FitzBuysCars selling process.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years in automotive buying, automotive sales, or high-volume outbound account management / inside sales (Not Required).
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with vAuto and digital appraisal platforms such as AccuTrade (Not Required).
  • Licensing & Mobility: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (subject to background check) and a willingness to travel locally for offsite consumer appointments. (Required).
  • Communication: Exceptional phone etiquette, active listening skills, and the ability to negotiate firmly yet politely with the public (Required).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Earning Potential: $42,000 base salary + aggressive volume-based commission structure per vehicle acquired, supplemented by performance-driven KPI bonuses (including incentives for volume milestones and collecting customer reviews/testimonials). Driven specialists can easily exceed six figures ($100,000+) annually.
  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a reasonable and structured work schedule—no extreme retail hours.
  • Company Ownership: Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) – build true wealth and equity as a co-owner of the company.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage plans.
  • Retirement: 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
  • Time Off: Paid Time Off package plus paid holidays annually.
  • Additional Perks: Many more benefits to support your personal and professional growth.
