Job Description

General Manager, TikTok Shop — Founding Operator

Location: TBD within the city of Los Angeles, CA
Comp: $220k base · performance bonus
Reports to: CEO

The role

We are spinning out a TikTok Shop business as a wholly-owned subsidiary of PureTek Corporation, a profitable pharmaceutical and consumer health manufacturer with a portfolio of branded SKUs, in-house formulation, and warehouse infrastructure already in place. You will be employee #1 and run it like a founder. Your job is to take this from $0 to $25M+ GMV in 18 months. You own the P&L. You hire the team. You pick the SKUs that win, kill the ones that don’t, and ship content every single day. You will sit next to the founder, move at startup speed, and be paid like an owner. This is not a brand manager role. This is not a “head of social” role. This is a player-coach operator role for someone who has personally run a TikTok Shop seller account at scale and wants to do it again with real resources behind them.

In your first 90 days you will:

      •     Pick the launch SKU and the next three after it.
      •     Stand up the Seller Center, ad accounts, and TAP affiliate program.
      •     Hire a creator/affiliate manager, an in-house creator, and an editor.
      •     Ship organic content daily by week two.
      •     Have a working live schedule by week six.
      •     Deliver a 12-month P&L with weekly GMV, CAC, and contribution margin targets.

You are the right person if:

      •     You have personally operated a TikTok Shop seller account that did $5M+ GMV in a trailing 12-month window. You can screen-share the dashboard.
      •     You have built a TAP affiliate program with 500+ active creators and know the difference between open plan, targeted collab, and shop ads collab by reflex.
      •     You have run Shop Ads and GMV Max with $100K+/month and can recite your MER without opening a sheet.
      •     You have shipped content through a regulated-claims review process. You respect compliance even when it costs you velocity.
      •     You have been on camera or directed creators on camera. You have opinions about hooks. You will critique our existing content unprompted in the interview.
      •     You speak in GMV, AOV, CTR, CVR, and contribution margin. You do not speak in “engagement” or “brand lift.”
      •     You have hired and fired creators, killed SKUs, and pulled live streams mid-broadcast. You have made hard calls and they were the right calls.
      •     You want the carry, not the title.

You are not the right person if

      •     Your background is big-CPG brand management without platform-native operating reps.
      •     You come from an agency without in-house P&L ownership.
      •     You are an “influencer marketing” generalist. Instagram and YouTube reps do not transfer here.
      •     You need a team of ten to start. The first six months are you plus four people, working hard.
      •     You want a slow room. PureTek itself is a real company with real cadences. The whole point of the subsidiary is to escape that gravity. You will be the thing that escapes it.

Compensation

We are deliberately paying above market because we want the top quartile of TikTok Shop operators in this country and we want them to stop taking other recruiter calls.

      •     Base: $250K (range $220–$280K depending on profile)
      •     Performance bonus: 15–25% of contribution margin above a pre-set threshold. Uncapped. At $25M GMV / 15% CM, this pays roughly $475K.
      •     Phantom equity: 5% of new company with 4-year vest, 1-year cliff, double-trigger acceleration on sale.
      •     Signing bonus: $50K to make leaving your current seat easy.
      •     Tool budget: $10K/year you control without approval, $5K/year for conferences and creator events.
      •     Health, dental, 401k via the parent company.

Three-year expected total comp if the business works: $1.5M – $3M+.

What we offer that money can’t buy

      •     A profitable parent company that already manufactures, warehouses, and ships product. You will not be debugging a 3PL on day one.
      •     A founder who has built and operated quantitative systems at institutional scale and treats this business like a portfolio company, not a marketing line item.
      •     A real subsidiary structure with real authority. You are not embedded in a corporate marketing org. You are the GM of a separate company that happens to live in the same building.
      •     Compliance and legal infrastructure already in place. We know how to ship claims-sensitive products.
      •     Speed. Decisions in hours, not weeks.
