This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Loan Operations Commercial Loan Closer Team Lead in United States.
This is a critical leadership role within commercial loan operations, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end loan closing process for new, renewed, and modified commercial and real estate–secured loans. You will act as both a hands-on loan closer and a team lead, ensuring all pre-close due diligence requirements are completed accurately and efficiently while guiding a small team of loan closers. The role requires close coordination with Commercial Relationship Managers, Loan Officers, Underwriters, attorneys, and other stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant, and well-documented loan closings. You will play a key role in reducing cycle times, improving operational consistency, and ensuring regulatory and internal policy compliance. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented leader who thrives in fast-paced financial environments and enjoys both operational execution and team development.
- Review approved credit requests to identify all pre-closing conditions, documentation requirements, and due diligence needs for commercial loan transactions.
- Coordinate and manage due diligence activities, including title searches, UCC filings, flood determinations, insurance verification, surveys, entity documentation, appraisals, and compliance checks.
- Monitor and ensure timely receipt and accuracy of all required documentation to support loan document preparation and lien perfection.
- Collaborate with internal doc preparation teams and external legal counsel to facilitate accurate and timely loan closing documentation.
- Coordinate closing schedules with all stakeholders, including attorneys, title companies, borrowers, relationship managers, and internal teams.
- Review and validate closing documents and settlement statements to ensure alignment with approved credit terms and resolve discrepancies prior to execution.
- Provide “clear to close” confirmation once all conditions and requirements are satisfied, escalating issues when necessary.
- Review executed documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization before forwarding to loan servicing for booking.
- Support initial loan disbursement activities and act as secondary signer when required.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a small team of loan closers, including performance management and development support.
- Identify operational issues and process improvement opportunities while ensuring compliance with banking policies, regulations, and service standards.
- 7+ years of experience in financial services, with strong preference for commercial lending and loan operations experience.
- Prior team leadership or management experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial loan closing processes, documentation, and due diligence requirements.
- Working knowledge of federal and state banking regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong stakeholder management ability.
- Advanced organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to work effectively across internal and external partners.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-remote environment and successfully pass required background and credit checks.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from 49,972 to 76,958 USD depending on experience.
- Full-time, stable employment within a structured banking operations environment.
- Opportunity to lead and mentor a small team in a key commercial lending function.
- Exposure to end-to-end commercial loan lifecycle and high-value financial transactions.
- Collaborative work environment with strong cross-functional interaction.
- Opportunity to build expertise in regulated financial services and loan operations.
- Equal opportunity workplace with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
