Job Title: Paid Visiting Scholar
Brief Statement of Responsibilities
This opportunity will provide foundational training on various issues related to the pathophysiological features of End-Stage Liver Disease (ESLD) and their relevance to transcriptional regulation and organ decompensation. Through this process, the candidate will learn from the experiments and projects to develop human tissues in the lab using cell and molecular biology methods. Thery will also study animal tissues to test the functionality of developed nuclei acids therapies.
Additionally, the applicant will work closely with the PI and fellow laboratory members to gain experience in the area of liver regeneration and will provide development opportunities that will help the candidate in her career further as an independent scientist. These opportunities will be reflected by dissemination of the discoveries made by presenting at international conferences, networking, and the opportunity to mentor students or technicians in several experimental designs. It is expected that the candidate will participate in seminars, professional development opportunities, data analysis, manuscript preparation and publication, and presentations at scientific meetings.
Through this process, the candidate will gain experience.
Minimum Degree: M.D
Academic Field of Degree: Molecular Biology/Hepatology/End-Stage Organ Disease
Experience Required for Position: 1 year
