This role sits at the intersection of data operations, product thinking, and sports analytics, ensuring the accuracy and evolution of a high-traffic scores and schedules platform. You will own the integrity of sports data across multiple markets, helping maintain a reliable, real-time experience for users following high school athletics. Beyond day-to-day operational oversight, you will actively shape how the product evolves by analyzing user behavior, traffic trends, and engagement signals. The position blends structured QA work with strategic product input, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both detail-oriented execution and big-picture thinking. You’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and content teams to improve systems, workflows, and data reliability. This is a highly cross-functional role with direct impact on user experience and product performance at scale.
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of scores, schedules, team data, and classifications across 45+ sports markets, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Oversee in-season operations for key sports such as football and basketball, maintaining real-time data reliability and system performance.
- Conduct preseason audits across all markets, validating schedules, conferences, and classifications against authoritative sources before launch.
- Analyze traffic and user engagement data to identify trends, surface insights, and recommend improvements to product and market performance.
- Coordinate scout engagement, data sources, and market onboarding to support smooth expansion into new sports and regions.
- Build and refine operational processes that improve data quality, scalability, and overall system reliability.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to translate user behavior insights into actionable product enhancements.
- Strong understanding of high school sports structures, including state associations, classifications, and conference systems.
- Experience in data validation, quality assurance, or operational roles requiring high attention to detail and accuracy across large datasets.
- Ability to independently manage workflows, seasonal workload fluctuations, and multiple concurrent markets or projects.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret traffic, engagement, and performance data to generate actionable insights.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with experience working alongside product, engineering, and content teams.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable working with modern tools such as Slack, Asana, Google Workspace, or similar systems.
- Nice to have: experience with product development cycles, sprint-based environments, or user feedback integration.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
