This role plays a vital part in helping patients gain access to essential and often life-sustaining medications through pharmaceutical assistance programs. You will serve as a key coordinator between patients, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and manufacturers to ensure applications are completed accurately and processed efficiently. The position combines clinical knowledge, administrative precision, and patient advocacy in a remote healthcare operations environment. You will manage end-to-end workflows for patient assistance applications, including documentation collection, eligibility verification, and renewal tracking. With a strong focus on continuity of care, you will help prevent treatment interruptions by proactively managing timelines and follow-ups. This is a highly detail-oriented role suited for someone who thrives in structured coordination work while making a direct impact on patient well-being.
- Manage the full lifecycle of Patient Assistance Program (PAP) applications, including submission, tracking, and renewal coordination using designated healthcare platforms.
- Collect and verify patient documentation such as income proof, consent forms, and household information to ensure complete and compliant application packages.
- Coordinate closely with healthcare providers to obtain required signatures, prescriptions, and authorizations in a timely manner.
- Maintain ongoing communication with patients, educating them on application requirements, status updates, and next steps in the assistance process.
- Track medication refill schedules and proactively initiate renewals to prevent disruptions in patient treatment.
- Liaise with pharmacies, care teams, and manufacturer programs to ensure accurate medication delivery and continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records in EHR and workflow systems while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and internal standards.
- Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare, clinical, or medical administrative environment.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as NextGen or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows and strict deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a patient-centered and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with high attention to detail and accountability.
- Experience with Patient Assistance Programs (PAP), pharmacy coordination, or prior authorization workflows is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are considered an advantage.
