This role plays a vital part in helping patients gain access to essential and often life-sustaining medications through pharmaceutical assistance programs. You will serve as a key coordinator between patients, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and manufacturers to ensure applications are completed accurately and processed efficiently. You will manage end-to-end workflows for patient assistance applications, including documentation collection, eligibility verification, and renewal tracking. With a strong focus on continuity of care, you will help prevent treatment interruptions by proactively managing timelines and follow-ups. This is a highly detail-oriented role suited for someone who thrives in structured coordination work while making a direct impact on patient well-being.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of Patient Assistance Program (PAP) applications, including submission, tracking, and renewal coordination using designated healthcare platforms.
  • Collect and verify patient documentation such as income proof, consent forms, and household information to ensure complete and compliant application packages.
  • Coordinate closely with healthcare providers to obtain required signatures, prescriptions, and authorizations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with patients, educating them on application requirements, status updates, and next steps in the assistance process.
  • Track medication refill schedules and proactively initiate renewals to prevent disruptions in patient treatment.
  • Liaise with pharmacies, care teams, and manufacturer programs to ensure accurate medication delivery and continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate records in EHR and workflow systems while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and internal standards.
Requirements:
  • Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, clinical, or medical administrative environment.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as NextGen or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows and strict deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a patient-centered and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with high attention to detail and accountability.
  • Experience with Patient Assistance Programs (PAP), pharmacy coordination, or prior authorization workflows is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are considered an advantage.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote work environment with flexibility.
  • Competitive hourly contract compensation ($18–$19/hour).
  • Opportunity for contract renewal and potential long-term placement.
  • Comprehensive onboarding and structured training.
  • Meaningful, mission-driven work focused on improving patient access to care.
  • Professional development opportunities within healthcare operations.
  • Collaborative and supportive team culture.
