Summary:

The Housekeeping Inspector at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Champaign is responsible for inspecting the cleaning of guest rooms to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Walk all assigned spaces at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Remove newspapers, service trays, empty ash receptacles, trash and/or linens, and note any areas that require immediate cleaning
  • Clean hallways, elevators, service areas, stairwells, etc.
  • Perform quality checks on public spaces, televisions, telephones, and lamps
  • Remove soiled linens, towels, and trash and place them in the appropriate locations in the prescribed manner
  • Assist housekeepers with portable refrigerators, roll-away beds, cribs, etc. as needed
  • Demonstrate proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Respond to and resolve housekeeping requests and complaints by guests
  • Maintain consistently professional and positive attitude
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
  • Participate in task forces and committees as requested
  • Understand and provide friendly guest service
  • Understand and comply with proper cleaning techniques, procedures, and brand standards
  • Operate a vacuum, mop, and properly use cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Complete assigned tasks, identify and investigate issues, and resolve basic matters in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient
  • Additional tasks may be assigned at any given time.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High school education or related experience
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred
  • Attention to detail and efficient time management skills
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • Physical capability requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
