IT Infrastructure Engineer in Manhattan, New York at Manhattan, New York

CTG is seeking to fill an IT Infrastructure Engineer position for our client.

Location: Manhattan, NY
Duration: Client Permanent Placement

Duties:

• Install, configure, maintain, and support enterprise middleware and IT infrastructure supporting critical applications.

• Administer IBM WebSphere Application Server Traditional and WebSphere Liberty environments on Linux/UNIX platforms.

• Manage WebSphere Liberty configurations, including server.xml, bootstrap.properties, and jvm.options.

• Administer and support associated middleware technologies, including IBM MQ, IBM HTTP Server, IBM WebSphere Message Broker, Oracle WebLogic, and Cognos.

• Perform middleware application upgrades, patches, deployments, and configuration changes.

• Use Ansible for infrastructure administration, automation, configuration management, and application deployments.

• Support Git-based source control and configuration management, as well as CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or CloudBees.

• Apply Configuration as Code and DevOps methodologies to infrastructure management.

• Troubleshoot Java application and middleware errors and perform detailed root cause analysis.

• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve complex infrastructure issues in a large-scale enterprise environment.

• Document technical issues, symptoms, resolutions, configurations, and operational procedures.

• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and technical teams while independently managing priorities and deadlines.

• Provide production support and participate in after-hours, night, weekend, and 24x7 support as required.

Skills:

• Strong IBM WebSphere administration skills, including WebSphere Traditional and WebSphere Liberty.

• Linux/UNIX administration and enterprise infrastructure support.

• IBM MQ and related middleware technologies.

• Ansible automation and configuration management.

• Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or CloudBees.

• Configuration as Code and DevOps methodologies.

• Java troubleshooting and debugging.

• Relational database concepts and SQL.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to learn new applications and technologies quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in middleware administration, preferably with IBM WebSphere Application Server Traditional and WebSphere Liberty.

• Experience supporting enterprise-wide, large-scale IT environments.

• Experience performing infrastructure upgrades, patching, application deployments, and production support.

• Experience with automation, configuration management, and DevOps practices.

• Experience troubleshooting complex middleware and Java application issues.

• Experience working collaboratively with technical teams while independently prioritizing work and meeting deadlines.

• Ability to provide 24x7 production support, including nights and weekends as required.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and four years of relevant full-time experience in datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, or complex IT infrastructure engineering; or

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of relevant full-time experience; or

• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $135,000.00 to $145,000.00 annually. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
