Group Leader- Machining in Boyden, Iowa at Demco Mfg

Department: Manufacturing Operations

Summary: Directs and coordinates assigned manufacturing operations activities directly to the work force by performing the following primary duties.

Primary Duties:

• Maintain schedule and give direction to the work force under their direct control and interface with overall schedule needs
• Gives broad direction in department processes
• Efficient use of resources under their control
• Provide organization and structure to the area of responsibility
• Support and recognize employee needs and achievements, coaching as needed
• Keep the lines of communication open within area of responsibility, as well as with the Team Leader and other functional activities
• Communicate Demco policies
• Assure the quality of products produced in their department are built correctly
• Create an environment for continuous improvement
• Ensure that all employees understand and comply with all safe work practices established by Demco
• Ensure that all employees are properly trained and placed in jobs which match their individual skill, ability and aptitude

Qualifications/Experience:

• Requires a minimum of three years experience in manufacturing operations
• Excellent math, problem-solving skills, good judgment, good understanding of blue prints and testing equipment
• Good interpersonal, verbal communication, and written skills
• Self-motivated
• Computer knowledge
