Alliance Workforce Management is hiring Chicken Handlers to support a high-volume poultry processing facility in Owasso. This role focuses on preparing, trimming, and inspecting chicken products while maintaining strict food safety and quality standards.
Position OverviewThe Chicken Handler is responsible for handling raw poultry, trimming and preparing products according to production specifications, and ensuring all items meet quality and safety requirements. This position plays a key role in keeping the production line running smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities- Place chicken pieces onto conveyors and maintain steady product flow.
- Inspect raw poultry for foreign materials such as plastic, cardboard, and bones.
- Trim chicken breast and remove excess fat according to product specifications.
- Re-inspect any product flagged by the X-ray machine for bone detection.
- Maintain and clean personal tools and equipment, including mesh gloves, knife pouches, sharpeners, and scissors.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Experience in meat or poultry processing preferred.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality control practices is helpful.
- Ability to safely use knives, cutting tools, and trimming equipment.
- Comfortable working in cold, refrigerated environments.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, regulated production setting.
- Basic English reading and communication skills; Spanish knowledge is beneficial but not required.
- Full-time schedule; shift details provided during hiring.
- Work performed in climate-controlled production areas ranging from –40°F to –45°F.
- High noise levels require mandatory hearing protection.
- Exposure to raw poultry, marinades, and strong odors.
- PPE required: hair/beard nets, rubber-soled shoes, smocks, hearing protection, and hard hats.
- Frequent twisting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand/wrist movements.
- Ability to lift 50–80 lbs unassisted as part of daily production requirements.
- Standing and walking for long periods on concrete floors that may be wet or slippery.
- Must have corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
- Ability to maintain balance and work safely in a fast-moving environment.
Full-time positions available in the poultry processing department. Shift schedules vary based on production needs.
