Job Description

Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Summary: The SME is the team's authority for the client’s domains, including but not limited to: DoW, USN and NAVAIR operational, technical, and programmatic environments. They ground solutions with credibility, wisdom and insights, using mission realities. Our SME’s support, accelerate and guide the team while representing true customer needs, constraints, and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on Naval aviation systems, sustainment, acquisition, training, or operations, depending on the domain.
  • Conduct research and analyses, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for customers and internal teams.
  • Engage stakeholders (warfighters, program offices, engineers, maintainers, etc.) to capture requirements and user needs.
  • Support multiple concurrent initiatives with quality workmanship, responsiveness, with a focus on customer satisfaction, yet also with a longer-term organizational strategy in mind
  • Contribute to after-action reviews, lessons learned, and process improvements.
  • Support business development through proposal content, technical expression, capability briefings, and customer planning sessions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in DoW/DoN/NAVAIR environments; prior military or government service is highly valued.
  • Deep knowledge of the DoD acquisition lifecycle, program office structures, and relevant policies and standards.
  • Credible Executive Presence & Advanced Stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to brief senior leaders and explain complex topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
