The Wedding & Social Catering Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue through the wedding and social catering market sales of special events such as weddings, family reunions, milestone celebrations, and other social events at Basin Harbor. This position serves as the primary contact for clients throughout the sales process, building relationships and creating memorable event experiences that reflect the resort's commitment to exceptional hospitality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively solicit, sell, negotiate and book weddings, family reunions, anniversary celebrations, showers, celebrations of life, and other social events.
- Respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner and conduct in-person site tours for prospective clients.
- Develop customized proposals, contracts, and event packages that align with client needs while maximizing resort revenue.
- Negotiate guestroom rates, meeting room rental, food and beverage minimums, concessions, and other business terms while balancing client needs with hotel revenue and profitability objectives.
- Prepare and execute group contracts in accordance with hotel-approved terms, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure contracts accurately reflect negotiated terms, including cancellation, attrition, deposits, billing arrangements, concessions, and other applicable requirements.
- Collaborate with sales and revenue leadership to align group pricing and availability with occupancy, ADR, need periods, and overall hotel revenue strategy.
- Monitor booking pace, tentative and definite business, conversion, account production, and overall pipeline performance.
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients from initial inquiry through operational handoff, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.
- Build strong relationships with industry partners, wedding planners, and community groups to generate new business opportunities.
- Collaborate on-site with resort operations to ensure successful contract closing.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, contracts, and event details within the resort's sales systems.
- Achieve established monthly, seasonal, and annual revenue and booking goals.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and sophisticated representative of Basin Harbor at bridal shows, networking events, community functions, and industry-related events.
- Consistently deliver exceptional service that reflects Basin Harbor's culture of hospitality and guest satisfaction.
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, marketing, or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in hospitality sales; luxury hospitality-related work experience is preferred.
- Luxury resort, full-service hotel, wedding, and/or high-end social event sales experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate with clients and internal departments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Adobe Suite, and Stayntouch.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by client and business needs.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, regularly walk between venues and climb stairs.
- Holds a valid US. driver's license and comfortable operating a golf cart regularly with clients.
Pay Range: $67,000 - $70,000 per year.
Schedule: Full-time, on-site. Requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, to align with scheduled events and peak client inquiry times. Our peak season runs from April – October.
