We are seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team and ensure our vehicles and equipment remain safe, dependable, and ready for service.

Position Summary:

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department, supervising mechanics, coordinating preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring the reliability and availability of company vehicles and equipment. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance shop management, field support, employee development, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the daily work of mechanics and maintenance personnel.
  • Prioritize maintenance and repair activities based on project schedules, equipment availability, and operational needs.
  • Perform and oversee preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel- and gas-powered vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair logs, inspections, and service schedules.
  • Coordinate with the Pavement Marking Manager and Project Managers to schedule maintenance activities that minimize project disruptions.
  • Respond to field service calls and provide technical guidance for troubleshooting equipment issues at jt_sourceites.
  • Manage shop inventory and order parts, tools, and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and proper PPE usage.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate mechanics, providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
  • Support the onboarding and development of new maintenance team members.
  • Identify opportunities to improve fleet reliability, reduce downtime, extend equipment life, and control maintenance costs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance, diesel repair, heavy equipment maintenance, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel and gas-powered engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
  • ASE certifications or equivalent technical certifications.
  • Experience supporting construction, pavement marking, or transportation fleets.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance software and maintenance tracking systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in both shop and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform hands-on maintenance tasks.
  • Occasional travel to project sites to support field operations.
