About this Opportunity:
The Driver is primarily responsible for the safe and accurate delivery of finished products to Vander-Bend Manufacturing customers. The person in this position must be detailed and able to follow directions. This individual acts as a representative of the company and assists customers as required. When not driving, this position assists in preparing materials for next deliveries and or cleanup of vehicle/department as required. The driver is also responsible for other duties and tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Will drive a variety of Company owned vehicles.
- Receive requests from shipping department or others for pick-ups at customers and suppliers.
- Match packing slips against box labels before loading truck for deliveries.
- Ensure the safe and accurate delivery of materials to the customer.
- Reporting of all discrepancies to the Shipping Manager or Customer Account Managers.
- Completes necessary documentation.
- Assists in packaging of product.
- Notifies Maintenance department or Management to any equipment issues including but not limited to: vehicles, lift trucks, pallet jacks etc.
- Load and unload of materials.
- Safe use of forklift
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Familiar with Bay Area roads and traffic patterns.
- Strapping and securing of materials for transportation.
- Must be able to read and understand road maps.
- Be able to present a pleasant and professional manner to customers.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Current DMV printout.
- Successful completion of Forklift Training and Vander-Bend Manufacturing Certification.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds routinely.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to maneuver and push 500-pound Kan Ban Racks when required.
- Endure long periods of sitting.
- Ability to climb in and out of High Truck Cabs routinely.
