Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer based in the United States.
This role operates at the intersection of software engineering, enterprise consulting, and applied AI deployment within complex real-world environments. You will work directly inside enterprise retail and partner ecosystems, embedding with technical teams to design and deliver AI-driven solutions tailored to their infrastructure and business needs. The position requires strong technical depth as well as the ability to navigate ambiguous, heterogeneous systems and turn them into production-grade integrations. You will build and deploy agentic AI systems while continuously adapting core platform capabilities to fit external environments. A key part of your impact will be acting as the bridge between enterprise customers and internal R&D teams, ensuring real-world constraints shape product evolution. This is a highly hands-on, field-facing engineering role for builders who thrive in dynamic, customer-centric environments.
- Embed directly with enterprise retail and CPG customers to understand their technical ecosystems, data infrastructure, and operational workflows.
- Design, build, and deploy AI and agentic solutions tailored to customer-specific environments and constraints.
- Integrate and extend core platform capabilities into complex, often undocumented or heterogeneous enterprise systems.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact during implementation and deployment engagements.
- Collaborate closely with internal R&D teams to surface product gaps, share field insights, and influence platform development.
- Partner with solution architects to translate customer requirements into scalable, production-ready technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration challenges across APIs, legacy systems, and enterprise data pipelines.
- Facilitate technical discussions with customer stakeholders while maintaining hands-on engineering ownership.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of delivering production-grade systems.
- Extensive experience building with LLM APIs, agent frameworks, RAG pipelines, or other applied AI systems in production.
- Strong proficiency in Python or similar backend/scripting languages used in data-intensive environments.
- Proven ability to integrate with complex enterprise systems, including undocumented APIs, legacy infrastructure, and inconsistent data schemas.
- Experience working directly with external enterprise customers in a consulting, solutions engineering, or customer-facing engineering role.
- Strong understanding of retail, e-commerce, or supply chain systems and workflows.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable recommendations for both customers and internal teams.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with evolving requirements and minimal structure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance hands-on coding with stakeholder collaboration.
- Prior experience in embedded engineering, professional services, or early-stage startup environments is highly valued.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $169,000 to $214,000 USD depending on location
- Annual equity grants and new hire equity incentive eligibility
- Fully remote work flexibility across the United States
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
- Paid time off, holidays, and parental leave support
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge applied AI and agentic systems in production
- High-impact role with direct influence on enterprise customer success and product direction
- Collaborative, fast-paced environment bridging engineering, product, and customer strategy
- Strong exposure to real-world enterprise AI deployment challenges at scale
- Career growth opportunities across both technical and customer-facing leadership tracks
