We are seeking a Reliability Test Engineer who will conduct and support Reliability, Validation, Test Execution and Product Characterization for Autonomous Vehicle, Consumer Electronics, Medical Devices products both packaged and unpackaged. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong personal attributes and behaviors that will be instrumental for growth as a Reliability Test Engineer. This is a very hands-on active role with physical demands to support client testing.

A Reliability Test Engineer I will:

  • Responsible for all aspects of Reliability/Validation/Test Engineering providing laboratory support, including but not limited to, test design and fabrication with setup, test execution, instrumentation, diagnostics, and maintenance of laboratory equipment for Production/Operations at WESTPAK.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation to support test execution, lab processes, and provide structured project/program updates. Responsible for maintaining current assigned employee training modules, including EHS, ISO 17025, Quality with QMS guidelines.
  • Have experience with Shock & Vibration--Hydro and Electrodynamic Shakers, Shock and Drop Machine, Environmental Thermal Chambers, Power and Electronic Parametric, High-Speed Video, along with the Data Acquisition Controllers and Instrumentation for each.
  • Independently conduct Real World Environmental Simulations in the laboratory environment. Additionally, perform Transit testing defined by, but not limited to, ASTM and ISTA standards, customer requirements, and WESTPAK’s Quality Management System.
  • Execute Customer Specific Profiles, Road Level Data Acquisition (RLDA), Customer Specific sterile barrier package integrity, Tensile and Compression for Material Science, High Speed Video, Microscopes, Strain Gauge, Load Cell, Accelerometer Data acquisition and recording, and shelf-life testing.
  • Perform testing duties within the designated hours of operations according to WESTPAK requirements to ensure customer objectives are met through proactive communication, documentation, and customer service.
  • Assist Engineering with equipment upkeep, repair, and validation as appropriate.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify deviations and provide client insight.
  • Ensure project accuracy and quality through document control, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and auditing.
  • Maintain responsive customer communication in email and in person regarding testing services provided, test status, updates, and results.
  • Maintain WESTPAK 5S and various site standards and expectations.

Requirements for Eligibility

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, or equivalent technical education degree.
  • 5-7 years of working laboratory experience in conducting product characterization and reliability test execution.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as protocols, industry specifications (ASTM and ISTA), and customer’s Product Reliability Documents.
  • Understanding CAD fundamentals, 3D Printing, Material Science, and Failure Analysis.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and general computer literacy.
  • Math skills: Intermediate to advanced algebra, statistics, and geometry.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $48-54 /hour depending on experience with company-wide bonus incentives and Employee Stock Ownership Participation.
