This position is for the University of NewMexico-Gallup Campus located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west ofAlbuquerque, NM
The University of New Mexico-Gallup Campusinvites applications for a Visiting Lecturer II/III in Medical LaboratoryTechnology. We are one of four branchcommunity colleges of the University of New Mexico Gallup Campus and serveapproximately 2200 students. Located inGallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, UNM-Gallup is situatedin the Four Corners region and near the Navajo Nation, Zuni Pueblo and HopiReservation. The city of Gallup has apopulation of 22,000 and the surrounding areas provide an abundance of outdoorrecreational activities, various museums and extraordinary cultural vibrancy,while maintaining a small-town feel.
UNM-Gallup serves a hugely diverse studentpopulation with 100+ full time and part-time faculty members. We are fullyaccredited by the Higher Learning Commission offering Associate degrees,selected Bachelor's degrees, Career Technical Education certificate programs,and adult basic education (ABE/GED), workforce training and personal enrichmentcourses. UNM-Gallup serves multiple high school populations including McKinleyAcademy, Middle College High School and the Center for Career and TechnicalEducation.
It is an exciting time to join our faculty aswe are expanding our programs, engaging with our community, establishingmultiple endowments and grant opportunities while hiring a substantial cohortof new faculty. Lecturers at UNM-G have career advancement opportunities thatare outlined in the UNM Faculty Handbook and faculty union collectivebargaining agreement.
The successful candidate will be expected toteach a 30CH course load per year in the area of Medical Laboratory Technology, participate in monthlyDivision meetings and execute other relevant duties as agreed upon inconjunction with the division chair in an annual faculty-chair agreement.

- An earned bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a closely related field
- An ASCP BOC or ASCPi BOC generalist certification as amedical laboratory scientist or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated clinical laboratory experience
- Demonstrated teaching experience
- Master's , doctoral or terminal degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a closely related field
- National or international certification in MLT, MT, MLS or related field
- Knowledge of MLT educational methods and current accreditation/certification procedures.
- A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
