Job Description

Description:

Technology Coordinator

Location: Charlotte, NC

At Hi-Way Paving, we are general contractors in the construction field that specialize in significant amounts of concrete paving, storm drainage, and excavation on highways and airfields.

We are seeking a highly responsive, service-oriented Technology Coordinator to support our field and office teams across a growing heavy civil construction operation. This role is primarily focused on Tier 1 / Tier 1.5 internal IT support — helping employees quickly resolve issues, stay connected, and keep operations moving.

Success in this role is less about being the deepest technical expert in the room and more about being attentive, responsive, persistent, organized, and trusted by the people you support.

You will work closely with our Technology Manager, handling day-to-day support needs while gaining exposure to more advanced systems, infrastructure, security, and operational technology functions over time. This position is intended to grow as the technology function evolves within the organization.

We are especially interested in candidates with prior MSP (Managed Service Provider) experience, particularly those who enjoy hands-on support work and building strong relationships with end users rather than working in purely ticket-based environments.

Candidates should be located in or near the Charlotte, NC area. This is not a fully remote role — regular in-office presence (2–3 days per week minimum) and occasional field engagement are expected. Some after-hours responsiveness may be required due to construction schedules and night work, though most issues can typically be addressed during normal business hours.

If you’re the kind of person who notices the missed message, follows up before someone has to ask twice, and takes pride in being dependable, we’d love to talk.

What You'll Do:

User Support & Responsiveness (50%)

  • Monitor and respond to support requests across multiple channels, including Slack, Microsoft Teams, email, phone, and text
  • Provide fast, professional, and effective Tier 1 / Tier 1.5 support for office and field employees
  • Troubleshot issues related to:
    • Windows laptops and desktops
    • iPhones and iPads
    • Microsoft 365 applications
    • Printers, scanners, and shared devices
    • Connectivity and access issues
  • Prioritize concurrent requests while maintaining strong communication and follow-through
  • Support employees who may have limited technical backgrounds but rely heavily on technology to coordinate and execute work in the field

Technology Operations & Administration (35%)

  • Assist with device setup, deployment, onboarding, and offboarding
  • Support and maintain endpoint management platforms, including:
    • NinjaOne (RMM/PSA & MDM)
    • Jamf migration efforts
  • Maintain accurate ticketing and documentation practices within NinjaOne
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, Entra ID/Azure AD user management, SharePoint, and OneDrive support
  • Coordinate with vendors and escalation partners when needed
  • Support conference room technology, mobile devices, peripherals, and jobsite technology needs

Field & Operational Support (15%)

  • Travel periodically to project sites and offices to support field technology operations
  • Build strong working relationships with field personnel and operations teams
  • Support basic cybersecurity and device compliance initiatives
  • Help improve consistency, responsiveness, and operational discipline across the company’s technology environment
Requirements:

What We Look For:

  • 2–5+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, MSP support, or technology coordination roles are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple incoming requests with urgency and professionalism
  • High responsiveness and follow-through — people know they can count on you
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and willingness to dig deeper than surface-level fixes
  • Experience with:
    • Microsoft 365
    • Windows environments
    • iOS/iPadOS devices
    • RMM/PSA platforms
  • Experience with NinjaOne, Jamf, SharePoint, OneDrive, Slack administration, or MDM platforms is a plus
  • Construction industry experience or experience supporting field-based operations is strongly preferred
  • Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks or compliance environments (such as CMMC) is a plus
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old to meet employment requirements

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Career growth and development in the growing and essential construction industry.
  • A commitment to excellence and professionalism through building and supporting high-performing teams.
  • An open, inclusive, and innovative family-owned business environment focused on training and safety for all employees.
