This is a senior finance leadership role within a global, creative, and fast-paced entertainment environment, responsible for overseeing shared services accounting operations across multiple business units. You will lead end-to-end financial reporting, consolidation, and close processes while ensuring strong internal controls and compliance with accounting standards. The role spans general ledger management, revenue and expense recognition, royalty accounting oversight, and financial analytics. You will manage and develop both onshore and offshore accounting teams, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across financial processes. Acting as a strategic partner to finance and business leadership, you will help shape accounting strategy, support acquisitions, and enable data-driven decision-making. - Lead and oversee shared services accounting operations, including general ledger management, monthly/quarterly/annual close, and consolidated financial reporting.
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements by analyzing variances, investigating discrepancies, and providing clear explanations and insights to leadership.
- Manage and mentor accounting managers and analysts across onshore and offshore teams, fostering high performance and professional development.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with SOX requirements, GAAP standards, and corporate financial policies.
- Oversee revenue recognition, expense accounting, royalty finance processes, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple business areas.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, automation (including BlackLine utilization), and cost optimization across financial operations.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, resolve audit findings, and ensure readiness for reporting and compliance requirements.
- Support strategic initiatives including acquisitions, financial system enhancements, and cross-functional transformation projects.
- Partner with business unit finance leaders and corporate stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting, forecasting insights, and financial analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree or CPA strongly preferred.
- 8–10+ years of progressive financial management or controllership experience, including at least 4 years in a shared services leadership role.
- Experience managing both onshore and offshore accounting teams in a large, multinational organization.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and SOX compliance requirements.
- Proven expertise in month-end close processes, financial consolidation, and controllership functions supporting executive leadership.
- Experience with ERP and financial systems such as SAP S/4HANA, HFM, and BlackLine strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, prioritize in high-pressure environments, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Experience in royalty accounting or entertainment/media industry finance is a plus.
- High professional integrity, strategic thinking mindset, and strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Annual salary range of $140,000 to $160,000 depending on experience, skills, and location factors.
