Job Description
The Temporary Part-Time Development Operations Specialist will process a high volume of donor gifts from a variety of sources and platforms. The person will work closely with the Development Operations Manager to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Raiser’s Edge / NXT database. The Development team raises $21M annually for the organization with half of the funds coming from individual donors, and the other half divided equally between gifts from foundations, corporations, and government entities.

We offer a three-pronged approach to support families through their housing crisis, which includes:
Emergency shelter: Two 24/7 family shelters with 380 beds for households with children, which is a higher acuity solution for families with significant barriers to housing.
Mobile Outreach: Provides on-the-ground support across King County to physically meet unsheltered families where they are and transition them directly into stable housing.
Homelessness Prevention: Serves families currently housed but at risk of eviction and homelessness with rental assistance.

This is a 20 hrs./week, temporary, hourly, part-time, non-exempt contracted remote position working a daytime Monday – Friday schedule, with flexibility to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary. There will be mandatory in-person meetings occasionally. The contract is expected to end in July 2027 with the possibility that the contract could be extended.
This position reports to the Development Operations Manager and does not supervise staff. The hourly wage for this position is between $30 to $32/Hr. DOE.
Key Responsibilities
Process a high volume of donor gifts from a variety of sources and platforms. Meet high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
Gift Entry (80%)
- Import and process online gifts made thru third-party donation platforms
- Mark gift source and designations for accurate financial tracking
- Enter checks and bank deposits received from Finance into batches for review
- Confirm, track, and enter matching gift donations
- Deliver deposit reports for Finance
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor information and donations
- Complete regular tasks and special projects to update constituent records
- Clean up the database and maximize efficiency of data entry and reporting
- Identify and consolidate duplicate records
Gift Acknowledgements (10%)
- Ensure that gift acknowledgments and tax receipts are issued promptly and consistently for all gift types and constituent groups
- Run reports and lists for gift acknowledgement and donor gratitude
- Oversee annual tax receipt process
Support of Fundraisers (10%)
- Support Development Operations Manager in the running of lists, queries, and reports
- Assist the Development Operations Manager with tasks as needed to ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor data and gift records.
- Assist with other administrative tasks
Skills/Qualifications Required
- Experience in data entry
- Ability to complete a large volume of data entry, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and mail merge functions is required
- Demonstrated experience with learning new platforms
- Experience using Raiser’s Edge (both Database and NXT platforms) is preferred
- Experience working with online merchant platforms such as Classy is a plus

- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed (occasional nights & weekends)
- Highly motivated, resourceful, flexible, and possess a positive attitude and sense of humor

Physical Requirements
- Ability to converse with and listen to people in many different settings
- Ability to use a computer and telephone, as well as other standard office equipment
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, lift, and/or carry supplies up to 25 pounds
- Extended periods of sitting while working on a computer

• Sick Time in accordance with Seattle Paid Sick and Safe Time Ordinance. Sick Time accrues at 0.03846 hour for each hour in timesheet (equal to 40 hours/year when 20 hours/week in timesheet)
• Paid Time Off (PTO) accrues at 0.03846 hour for each hour in timesheet during first year of employment, with increasing accruals for each year worked up to 0.05769 hour for 5+ years of employment
• 403(b) plan with a 50% employer match on the first 6% employee contribution. Eligible to participate upon hire; eligible for the match after 1 year of employment and 1,000 Hours of Service.
