About the Role

The Shift Leader (SL) is responsible for overseeing daily operations during their shift, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service. This role is essential to keeping operations running smoothly managing the team, maintaining standards, and resolving issues as they come up in real time.

What You'll Do

  • Team Management Oversee team members, ensuring they follow company policies and perform their duties effectively

  • Food Safety Compliance Ensure all food safety regulations and company standards are met during your shift

  • Staff Safety Uphold safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for the team

  • Opening/Closing Duties Perform and oversee all tasks needed to open or close the restaurant efficiently

  • Customer Complaint Resolution Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally

  • Customer Service Leadership Lead the team in delivering an exceptional, positive experience for every customer

  • Cash Handling Manage cash handling procedures accurately and securely

  • Cleanliness Maintain a clean, well-organized restaurant throughout the shift

  • Food Quality Standards Oversee food preparation and presentation to meet company quality standards

  • Training Train new and existing team members to perform their roles effectively

  • Labor Cost Management Monitor labor costs and adjust staffing levels as needed

  • Recipe Adherence Ensure recipes are followed precisely for consistent food quality

  • Shift Coordination Oversee all shift activities to keep operations smooth and efficient

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Attend bi-annual all-team meetings

  • Execute additional tasks as directed by General Management

  • Take on other duties as assigned by management

Skills & Competencies

  • Bilingual in Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) preferred

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to train and manage team members effectively

  • Food safety manager certification required, or willingness to obtain one

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment
  • May require lifting up to 50 lbs
Experience & Education
  • Experience: 1+ years of restaurant managerial experience
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required
