LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is dedicated to saving lives through the provision of high-quality blood products and related services. We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional to join our team as Assistant Manager - Specialty Product Services, in Gainesville, Florida.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Specialty Product Services department, including product intake, inventory management, storage, distribution, and fulfillment activities.
- Coordinate product allocation and order fulfillment to meet customer needs, contractual requirements, and service expectations.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure products are stored, handled, and distributed in accordance with regulatory requirements, SOPs, and safety standards.
- Support compliance with applicable regulations, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and organizational policies and procedures.
- Partner with internal departments, hospitals, vendors, and courier services to ensure efficient product logistics and exceptional customer service.
- Assist with quality assurance activities, including audits, inspections, documentation review, and the resolution of non-conforming events and deviations.
- Monitor operational performance and support initiatives that improve efficiency, inventory management, service delivery, and overall departmental effectiveness.
- Prepare and maintain operational reports, analyses, and documentation to support quality initiatives, decision-making, and regulatory compliance.
- Support the implementation of new products, process improvements, and cross-functional projects.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, training, and support to team members while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior management or supervisory experience required.
- Previous experience in blood banking, biologics, pharmaceutical logistics, regulated manufacturing, or a similar highly regulated environment preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, customers, and external partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with inventory management systems preferred.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and travel as needed.
- Valid driver's license required; must meet and maintain LifeSouth's driver eligibility requirements.

Who We Are
LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. We are committed to meeting the blood supply needs of hospitals and their patients by providing the highest quality blood components and services. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.
