Job Summary
The Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining the facility infrastructure, production support systems, and building equipment at our Monterey Park manufacturing plant. Working alongside maintenance personnel and contractors, this position performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and facility improvement projects while helping ensure compliance with clean room, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
This role spends the majority of time on the production floor and throughout the facility supporting daily operations, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe, efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Systems Maintenance & Repair - Perform and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs on facility infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and mechanical systems. Troubleshoot facility equipment issues and respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner. Conduct routine inspections of building systems and identify corrective actions before failures occur.
Clean Room & Manufacturing Support - Support operation and maintenance of clean room environments, including HVAC and filtration systems. Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations.
Preventative Maintenance & CMMS - Execute and improve preventative maintenance schedules for facility equipment and production support systems. Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment documentation.
Safety, Compliance & EHS - Follow and support Cal/OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements. Participate in safety inspections, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist with maintaining compliance with ITAR, EAR, AS9100, and facility security requirements.
Contractor & Vendor Coordination - Coordinate and oversee contractors performing maintenance, repairs, inspections, and facility improvements. Assist with obtaining quotes and scheduling maintenance services as needed.
Facility Improvements & Continuous Improvement - Participate in facility upgrades, equipment installations, workspace reconfigurations, and capital improvement projects. Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Team Leadership - Provide day-to-day guidance and work direction to maintenance personnel. Assist in assigning priorities and coordinating maintenance activities. Lead by example through active participation in maintenance and repair work.
Requirements:Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or plant maintenance experience.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting facility equipment.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems such as KeepTrak, Maintenance Connection, or similar platforms.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and basic reporting functions.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 due to ITAR/export control requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, defense, medical device, semiconductor, electronics, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with clean room operations and facility systems.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems.
- Trade certification, vocational training, or associate degree in maintenance, electrical, HVAC, industrial technology, or related field.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- OSHA 30, EPA, HVAC, electrical, or other maintenance-related certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical maintenance activities.
- Frequent walking, climbing ladders, working on rooftops, and accessing equipment throughout the facility.
- Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, machinery, utilities, and industrial systems.
- Ability to safely use maintenance tools, test equipment, and personal protective equipment.
- On-site position supporting daily manufacturing operations.

$83,200 to $93,600 annual base salary based on individual education and experience aligned with company internal equity.
