Overview
This is a full-time career opportunity that can be remote.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the development, implementation and delivery of reports, dashboards and metric-level analysis to effectively and efficiently support Department programs. The incumbent in this role seeks to understand the business challenge or problem that leaders and staff are attempting to solve in order to provide data analysis that can drive results and solutions. This role will mine and QC data across various systems to enable testing, monitoring, risk assessment, and various other data needs. The incumbent must understand regulatory compliance, risk management and data governance to translate complex datasets into actionable insights for the management team.
Responsibilities
- Sources, compiles, converts, organizes and transfers data from various sources and advises Department on data design, extraction and interpretation in support of Department’s execution of associated programs.
- Identifies, develops, documents and delivers data analysis by importing, transforming, cleansing, validating data files, etc. and applying knowledge of other critical requirements as appropriate. Maintains data and reporting dashboards to support monitoring and testing functions.
- Determines the optimal mode of delivery based on requesting party’s need, i.e. custom reports, Power BI, dashboards/visualization, graphs, tables, tabular reports, etc.
- Collaborates with IT data team, other members of Department, and data analysis positions throughout the organization to understand data structure, methodology and tools, gain appropriate access to required data, and issue resolution and provide technical expertise regarding compliance data and reporting outputs.
- Ensures that appropriate validation and controls are built into data related processes to ensure that data integrity is maintained. Lead and perform this effort with other team members as appropriate to ensure consistency and documentation of validation efforts for each project.
- Coordinates efforts with third party vendors as well as Lines of Businesses for identifying, changing, mapping, and testing data files and fields. Works with applicable business functions to ensure accurate data models and reporting output.
- Provides comprehensive operational, analytical, and technical support for projects that impact the corporate use of technology by advocating for the use of technology and reporting within the department to improve processes, controls, and reporting. Make recommendations to department management regarding projects as a technical resource during system enhancement reviews, consolidations/acquisitions, and other projects as needed.
- Regularly monitors data to identify changes needed and develops recommendations for leadership consideration while drawing attention to trends observed and data anomalies. Enhances existing processes and reporting and analysis through automation, ongoing presentations and visualization enhancements, and conversations with key stakeholders.
- Represents the Department in meetings, focus groups, projects, etc. regarding data and reporting that is needed, used or produced by the Department. Provides insight and guidance regarding Department’s data sourcing, structure and usage to ensure stakeholders’ understanding of the data output.
- Serve as the data advocate for the Department to ensure needs are being met.
- Promote the use of data analytics and related tools to internal staff, identify and communicate opportunities for technology-based enhancements, stay abreast of current and emerging industry and technology trends and the regulatory landscape.
Additional Responsibilities
- May serve as back-up administrator for Department-related tools and platforms.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: data analytics, data science, computer science. (Preferred)
Experience5 or more years data analysis, report development and familiarity with banking-related systems/databases in support of Audit or Compliance Testing. (Required)
5 or more years banking operations, compliance operations, banking/compliance systems reporting/data management or data analysis experience. (Preferred)
CertificationsCRCM or other relevant certification/credentials. (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Ability to maintain a growth mindset and adjust effectively to change (Required)
- Ability to convey verbal and/or written information and ideas clearly, concisely and professionally to individuals or groups (Required)
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in order to achieve common goals both internally and with external departments (Required)
- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, data analytics, data visualization (Preferred)
- Strong analytical and technology skills with tools such as Excel, SharePoint or One Drive (Preferred)
- Strong experience with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Tableau or similar tools (Preferred)
- Experience with Python, Java, SQL ACL or other programming language (Preferred)
