Job Description
Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a compassionate, professional, and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our Breast Specialists Center team. The PSR serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment. This position is responsible for managing front-office operations, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience throughout every interaction.
The ideal candidate possesses excellent customer service skills, strong organizational abilities, and a genuine commitment to providing compassionate care to patients navigating breast health concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet patients, families, and visitors in a professional, courteous, and compassionate manner.
- Check patients in and out for appointments and procedures.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations as needed.
- Collect copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information.
- Answer incoming phone calls and route messages appropriately.
- Assist patients with forms, registration documents, and appointment-related questions.
- Manage incoming faxes, correspondence, and electronic communications.
- Ensure patient records are updated and maintained within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to support efficient patient flow and scheduling needs.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service while addressing patient concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year of customer service, administrative, or healthcare front-office experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and data entry.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Previous experience in a medical office, specialty practice, or healthcare setting.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
- Experience scheduling patient appointments and handling high call volumes.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
