This is a high-impact, senior-level individual contributor role focused on shaping the intelligence layer of a fast-growing consumer marketplace platform. You will sit at the intersection of product strategy, data science, and engineering, driving decisions that directly influence matching quality, marketplace liquidity, and overall user experience. The role blends hands-on modeling with strategic thinking, requiring you to move fluidly from defining business problems to deploying production-ready solutions. You will work closely with product and engineering leaders to design measurement frameworks, optimize experimentation, and build predictive systems that guide growth. Operating in a highly dynamic environment, you will help define what success looks like for emerging product areas. Your work will be central to improving trust, efficiency, and scalability across a global community-driven ecosystem.
- Partner with product leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to define strategic business problems, shape measurement frameworks, and guide data-informed product direction.
- Design, build, and deploy advanced predictive and machine learning models to improve marketplace matching, liquidity, pricing, and user experience outcomes.
- Lead experimentation strategy end-to-end, including A/B testing design, causal inference methods, and analysis of network effects and spillover impacts.
- Develop and maintain robust data structures and instrumentation in collaboration with engineering teams to ensure high-quality, analysis-ready data pipelines.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights that influence senior leadership decisions and product roadmaps.
- Continuously monitor marketplace health metrics and identify opportunities for optimization and growth across key user flows.
- 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a quantitative discipline, ideally within consumer tech, marketplace, or platform-based businesses.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (or R), with experience building and deploying production-grade machine learning models.
- Deep expertise in experimental design, A/B testing, and causal inference, including experience handling network effects, interference, and spillover challenges.
- Proven ability to operate as a full-stack data scientist, from problem framing to modeling to deployment and impact measurement.
- Strong experience working with modern data warehouses and large-scale datasets in production environments.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive adoption of data-driven decisions.
- Strong systems thinking mindset, with the ability to understand second-order effects across interconnected marketplace dynamics.
- Bonus: experience in sharing economy, travel, or two-sided marketplace ecosystems.
- Competitive base salary and equity package aligned with experience and market benchmarks.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- Flexible time off policy, plus 12 paid holidays annually.
- 21 annual credits to stay in platform-listed homes for travel experiences.
- $4,000 yearly travel stipend to support personal travel and exploration.
- Remote-first work model with flexibility to work from anywhere and periodic in-person gatherings.
- Regular company offsites designed to foster collaboration and team connection.
- Inclusive, high-performance culture emphasizing feedback, growth, and strong team alignment.
