  • Establish and maintain proper tool offsets, work coordinates, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters.
  • Monitor machining processes and make real-time adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and process stability.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Identify tooling, programming, fixturing, and machining issues and take corrective action to prevent recurring problems.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine, tooling, and process issues and escalate more complex issues when necessary.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, housekeeping, and basic preventive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate production, inspection, tooling, and quality documentation.
  • Work closely with engineers, CNC programmers, quality personnel, and production leadership to resolve machining challenges and improve processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, tool life, setup efficiency, scrap reduction, and overall equipment utilization.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training, machining certification, or apprenticeship preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize work and maintain production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills (Optional but Valuable)

  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machining.
  • Experience editing and modifying CNC programs.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software such as FeatureCAM, Fusion 360, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with setup optimization, tooling selection, and process improvement.
  • Formal CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or tool-and-die training.
  • Experience working in a precision manufacturing or job-shop environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the manufacturing area for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions associated with machining operations.
  • Ability to lift and move materials, tooling, and workpieces up to 50 lbs., with assistance as required for heavier items.
  • Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment, machining fluids, noise, moving machinery, and other industrial conditions.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and appropriate footwear.
