Job Description

DIRECTOR OF SURGICAL SERVICES

  • DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
    • Responsible and accountable for managing and direction of strategic operations of Surgery, PACU, GI Lab, SPD and Anesthesiology departments. Works cooperatively with leadership of other departments to integrate clinical services, administrative and educational aspects throughout the continuum. Has 24 hour accountability. Ensures the inventory is as cost effective as possible. Collaborates with the surgeons and MD's to enhance the pt.care delivery ad cost effectiveness.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Professional/Educational
      • Bachelor's Degree in nursing required. Master's degree preferred.
      • IL. RN Licensure.
      • Five years of healthcare or business experience, at least two of which have been in a supervisor, manager or charge position in Surgical Services.
      • DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.
      • LEAN / PI Certification preferred or willing to obtain.
      • Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNLM) and Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) preferred.

Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
