Engineering Technician I in Huntsville, Alabama at Radial Solutions Inc.

RSi is looking to fill an Engineering Technician I position to support our NASA customer on the Marshall Engineering Technicians and Trades Support contract (METTS). This position provides technical support for engineers working in areas such as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement.

This position may require occasional overtime and may include second or third shift support for 24/7 onsite or on-call support based on customer needs and contract requirements.

Summary of duties include but are not limited to:

• Perform routine tasks under supervision or from detailed procedures.
• Perform any number of physical labor tasks related to the manufacturing processes.
• Provide semi-professional technical support for engineers working in such areas as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement.
• Performing simple or routine tasks such as tensile or hardness tests
• Operating and adjusting simple test equipment, records test data.
• Gathering and maintaining specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.
• Performing computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas, plotting data, and draws simple curves and graphs
• Prepare design drawings and assist with the design,

  evaluation, and/or modification of machinery and equipment.

Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications:

• Practical knowledge of science or engineering.
• Practical knowledge of mathematics or computer science.
• Work experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/IT Skills/Certifications:

• Working knowledge of basic manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication and team working skills
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Work Environment:

• Occasional outdoor work
• Environmentally controlled, heated and cooled shop area subject to machinery noise

Physical Environment/Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Ability to lift up to twenty pounds on an occasional basis
• Sit or stand for extended periods of time
• May require walking, bending, climbing stairs, and navigating shop/machine work areas

Other: Must meet eligibility for a Public Trust background investigation for government issues credentials and IT access/applicants must be able to pass a security background check per Redstone Arsenal/MSFC requirements.
